Rotary helps youths to secure their future

THE Rotary Club of Berwick is helping local disadvantaged apprentices through a partnership with the Caroline Chisholm Institute.
Christian Schrepel, Matthew Kool and BJ Swords attended an introductory night last month to learn more about the program and thank those involved in assisting them during their studies.
The three students will study at the Chisholm Institute of TAFE in Berwick.
The Rotary Club is providing the financial support with the aim of helping the neediest youths, including new migrants or students who have little family funds and experience hardship in their life.
Christian Schrepel, Matthew Kool and BJ Swords will be the first three students to benefit from the program.
Christian is undertaking an electrical apprenticeship, Matthew is working towards becoming a qualified boilermaker and BJ Swords is being assisted in his efforts to become a carpenter.
Rotary officials said they would provide the financial assistance for the students with Chisholm TAFE providing the technical training.
