Police bust crime ring after raids

NARRE Warren detectives say they have smashed a major crime syndicate which they believe involved several burglaries committed by men using high-powered motorcycles as their getaway method.
More than 100 items were seized – including a loaded gun, drugs and an air rifle – after local police raided several houses in Cranbourne and Frankston earlier this month.
Four men were arrested in the raids and about $100,000 worth of stolen goods was also recovered.
Police said the arrests related to numerous burglaries which were committed on businesses in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne over several months.
Other items seized included cameras, mobile phones, motorcycles, motorcycle clothing and helmets, stolen number plates and laptop computers.
A 34-year-old Cranbourne West man has been charged with numerous burglary, theft, handling stolen goods and drug offences.
A second Cranbourne West man, also 34, has been charged with numerous burglary, theft, handling stolen goods and drug offences.
He also faces a charge of possessing an unregistered firearm.
A Narre Warren man, 42, has been charged with dealing with the proceeds of crime, firearm possession and possession of cannabis.
All three men will appear before the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
An 18-year-old Frankston man was released on summons.
