HARRY Manx, the musician referred to as the link between the East and the West, is coming to Dandenong’s Drum Theatre for the first time.
The Canadian-born artist will be performing a one-off show on Sunday 15 June at 2.30pm, where he will create his famous musical stories through the tradition of Blues and the classical Indian ragas.
A successful performer, Manx has toured with his solo shows across Canada, the US, Australia and Europe. He has also appeared at many prestigious festivals, world-class theatres, concert halls and infamous Blues clubs around the world.
Playing the lap steel, harmonica, stomp box and banjo, Manx has released seven albums in the past six years.
He has won numerous awards including the Best Blues Album of the Year from the Canadian Independent Music Association, a nomination for the Western Canada Music Award for Best Roots Recording, two Maple Blues Awards and the Canadian Folk Music Award.
Most recently he was the recipient of CBC Radio’s Great Canadian Blues Awards for 2007.
