Door opens on Shed’s future

A DECISION on the future of The Shed has been delayed following a last minute move at a Casey council meeting on Tuesday night.
Controversy has surrounded the indoor skate park since it closed last December.
Several art groups have since pushed for a section of The Shed to be allocated for their own use.
But skaters are calling on civic leaders to help re-open the venue as a world class skate park.
A meeting involving representatives from both the skate and art community was held at the site last Monday.
Councillor Steve Beardon said all the options regarding The Shed’s future needed to be discussed in a second meeting with interested user groups.
“We need to seek feedback from the groups and put all the options on the table,” he said.
