ACTIVE residents at Hunters Green Retirement Village in Cranbourne East always enjoy their weekly hydrotherapy class.
Run by local physiotherapist, Michelle said that the gentle water exercise class benefited the residents in many ways.
“Benefits of the class include a cardiovascular workout – strengthening their heart and lungs,” she said.
“It gets their tired joints working, strengthens their muscles that assists in preventing or reducing osteoporosis and is a great social activity.”
Residents are delighted with the results of their efforts.
Margaret said the non-weight bearing exercises in the pool enabled her to include physical activity into her life that otherwise she would be unable to achieve. Another resident Olive said she wouldn’t miss the hydrotherapy class for anything.
“I really enjoy the physical exercise and the benefits that I feel later are remarkable,” she said.
The residents at Hunters Green Retirement Village can enjoy their magnificent heated pool every day.
Some like to take part in the classes, others enjoy swimming laps and some just like to splash around.
Hunters Green Retirement Village also offers residents Pilates for Seniors, also run by a qualified physiotherapist.
Hunters Green Retirement Village is at 2 Rochester Parade, Cranbourne East and is open every day for inspection between 11am and 3pm.
