A LOCAL business has received a national award for its excellence in delivering the news.
South Eastern Distribution Services directors Chris and Julie Leonidas were announced as the Australian Distribution Newsagency of the Year for 2007 during a recent awards ceremony on the Gold Coast.
The couple first started their foray into the industry with the Doveton Newsagency back in 1993 and have since gone on to form the business that now distributes newspapers and magazines to suburbs including Doveton, Hallam, Endeavour Hills and Dandenong.
Mr Leonidas said he was thrilled to receive the award and be recognised for the outstanding service the business provided to customers.
The company competed with more than 2000 other newsagents across Australia to win the award.
Herald Sun circulation director Stephen Kaye said the passion they have for their business, the effort and investment they have poured into their newsagency over many years has culminated in them winning this year’s highest industry award as judged by the publishers and suppliers of newspapers and magazines.
“The exceptional level of service they provide to their customers every day, 365 days of the year has now been recognised by the newsagent and publishing industry,” he said.
