CRANBOURNE trainers Michael Kent and Wendy Kelly prepared winners at last week’s home track race meeting, with Kent’s win in the $20,000 Fillies and Mares Handicap event providing the highlight.
Talented jockey Danny Brereton demonstrated all his riding skill to urge Yoobabe over the line first ahead of the fast-finishing Heaven May Wait in a well-timed ride.
The victory completed a double for Brereton after he guided Alfalfa to the post for Tony Vasil earlier in the afternoon.
Trainer of the moment Kelly, whose star galloper Bon Hoffa provided her first Group 1 win on Saturday, had success with her maiden runner Nautical Mile in the fourth race on the eight-event card.
The training honours were taken out by Rodney Douglas, who prepared the winners of the final two races, Harvard (race seven) and Stedman (race eight).
