A HAMPTON Park motorist is helping police with their investigations into a serious collision in Rowville on Sunday morning.
Major Collision Investigation Unit (MCIU) detectives interviewed the 42-year-old man after his blue Kia Carnival and a red Nissan sedan collided soon after midnight.
Police said the collision occurred at the intersection of Stud and Wellington Roads. The Nissan was pushed into a traffic light pole.
The driver of the Nissan, a 21-year-old Wantirna man, was taken to hospital with minor injuries, while his passenger, a 21-year-old Glen Waverley man, was flown to The Alfred in a critical condition.
The men were trapped in the vehicle for more than 30 minutes while a Dandenong CFA unit winched the car from around the traffic light pole.
Police said the three occupants of the Kia were not injured.
MCIU detectives are continuing to investigate the collision.
Police said no charges had been laid.
