Hooter drops in

BUNNINGS says lowest prices are just the beginning and at the Fountain Gate warehouse that is definitely the case.
So much so in fact that customers entering the store recently have been greeted with an unusual sight.
A barn owl, dubbed Hooter, has called the Narre Warren North Road warehouse home for the last two weeks.
The owl had been flying around the store until it was removed and set free into its natural habitat last week.
Rohan Bilney, a Bairnsdale ecologist who studies owls, said the barn owl species would occasionally roost and nest in buildings, particularly when hollow trees were scarce.
“It will just be living off the rats and mice in the area, and therefore quite effective at controlling rodent numbers,” Mr Bilney said.
