Over-50s turn 15

MEMBERS of the Timbarra Over 50 Social Group celebrated their club’s 15th anniversary in style recently.
The social group, which meets twice a week, gathered for a special lunch as well as an array of activities.
Group president John McCormack said the club’s membership had grown considerably in the past two years.
He said about 30 people turned up every Monday and more than 50 each Wednesday.
“We play carpet bowls and table-tennis and we have a pool table and you can play cards,” Mr McCormack said.
“A couple of times a year we have a barbecue and we also have day trips every six weeks.”
An entry fee of $3 is charged for each meeting.
The group meets every Monday from 1pm to 3.30pm and every Wednesday from 10am to 12.30pm.
For more information contact Mr McCormack on 9707 3317.
