NARRE Warren South residents had the weather on their side recently when they planted 650 native plants as part of National Tree Day.
Phil Hughes, coordinator for the Narre Warren South Friends of River Gum Creek, said more than 30 local volunteers had turned out to help with the planting at River Gum Creek reserve.
He said everyone worked extremely hard to improve the reserve, by creating a green landscape of native plants.
Mr Hughes thanked all who participated on the day and said their work would be of great benefit to the Narre Warren South community.
He also thanked the manager of FoodWorks in Narre Warren South, Nathan Pasco, for once again supporting the group and providing refreshments for all volunteers.
