Praise for renewal group

MANY Doveton and Eumemmerring locals have had a spring in their step over the past few years.
Residents are again proud of their little patch after the tireless work done for the area through the Doveton-Eumemmerring Neighbourhood Renewal project.
The group has organised an array of annual events including the Doveton Show, Australia Day event, open microphone nights and garden competition.
City of Casey mayor Colin Butler spoke glowingly of the group during a recent mayoral function held at the council chambers.
“The City of Casey appreciates the enormous effort and many hours of work by local residents on a variety of Neighbourhood Renewal activities and events over the last four years.
“The volunteers have achieved much in their time and have played a vital role in making Doveton-Eumemmerring the strong and vibrant community it is today,” Cr Butler said.
“Council applauds volunteers who donate their time and share their ideas and energy with the community, and it is clear to see the work has resulted in many positive and proud outcomes in Doveton-Eumemmerring,” he said.
