EUMEMMERRING College students spruced up their schoolyard recently while taking part in Clean up Australia Day activities.
Students from the Gleneagles campus environmental group, along with student volunteers, rolled up their sleeves and got their hands dirty.
Rubbish and waste materials from around the school grounds were targeted with various areas in the school grounds focused on.
Organising teacher Andrew Barker said the event was a great way for students to learn about what is recyclable and reusable and how the environment can benefit from recycling.
“It is important for students to understand this day is not just about picking up rubbish, but the sustainability of our environment,” Mr Barker said.
“With an ongoing commitment to ensuring Gleneagles is an environmentally sustainable and proactive school, it was great to see so many of our students volunteer to take part to make a difference in their environment for the future.”
