NARRE Warren North Red Cross Unit members celebrated their 68th birthday last week.
About 50 people attended the special event that honoured three long serving volunteers of the tight-knit organisation.
Isobel Stevenson, Nola Black and Dot Hall were all smiles as their colleagues acknowledged them for their tireless service to the community through their local Red Cross Unit.
Ms Stevenson celebrated 10 years service, Ms Black was thanked for 20 years service and Ms Hall was acknowledged for three decades of service to the Narre Warren North Red Cross Unit.
Unit secretary Phyllis Howard said the birthday celebrations and presentation of service awards went very well.
She said the group also raised about $500 by selling raffle tickets and organising goods to be sold on a trading table.
Puffing Billy Preservation Society member Don Horsburgh provided the entertainment during the day.
Mr Horsburgh spoke about the history of the famous steam train and its origins in the Dandenong Ranges.
