Ms Wynne was in northern Queensland on a working holiday and snared the ride on locally prepared horse Sam’s Dream in the second feature race on the card.
The day before the meeting, Wynne and fellow Melbourne lady rider Kasey Rawiller spoke about the racing industry from their perspective at the cup eve ball, and during the week the Cairns Post newspaper ran a large feature story on Wynne’s career.
The main race also had a local connection with Super Blitz, formerly trained by Cranbourne mentor Doug Harrison, winning out the Cairns Cup.
Wynne will back in action at Cranbourne racecourse at tomorrow’s (Friday’s) meeting.
