Salopek falls to Cat attack

Former Narre Warren Junior Football Club star Steven Salopek stepped onto the big stage on Saturday for Port Adelaide in its record 119-point grand final defeat to Geelong. Salopek, 22, had a quiet match, like many of his team-mates, but is sure to have relished playing in front of 97,302 fans at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The midfielder’s family, including father Nick and siblings Danielle, 19, and aspiring AFL footballer Jason, 14, still live in Berwick. Salopek was selected by the Power as the number six pick in the 2002 AFL national draft.Former Narre Warren Junior Football Club star Steven Salopek stepped onto the big stage on Saturday for Port Adelaide in its record 119-point grand final defeat to Geelong.
