AN Endeavour Hills primary school is bringing the world into its classrooms following the introduction of interactive whiteboards.
All classes at Chalcot Lodge Primary School are now using the SMART boards and teachers believe the new initiative will lead the school into the next phase of education.
The introduction of the high tech boards forms part of the school’s plan to create a new learning culture among students by focusing on more interactive activities to teach children through fun and educational experiences.
Each classroom has been equipped with the interactive touch whiteboard, data projector, scanner, speakers, microscope and digital camera.
Principal Kay Schlanger said the brilliant interactive learning technology enabled students to focus on what they want and need to learn, as part of their investigation into the topics they were studying.
“It is used as an integral part of daily lessons for all students in the classroom. This amazing technology enhances the development of the students’ creativity and promotes the broadening of the students’ creativity and promotes the broadening of their problem solving and communication skills as they explore concepts and share ideas,” Ms Schlanger said.
“The SMART board brings the world into each classroom, it really brings learning to life and captures the student’s imagination and enthusiasm in all aspects of the curriculum.”
