STUDENTS from Eumemmerring College’s four campuses came together recently to take part in a personal development program.
One of Australia’s leading trainers, Bob Allwright, took the all-day session which resulted in students focusing on developing a positive attitude, breaking through fear and team building.
A highlight of the day was the break through fear activity.
It involved students breaking through solid timber with their bare hands, after acknowledging some of their fears or obstacles by writing on the back of the wood.
Feedback from the students involved focused on the exciting nature of the program.
Gleneagles campus Year 10 student Nathan said his attitude quickly changed during the event.
“At first I thought, is this going to be a waste of time, but this was an experience of a lifetime, changing the way I think about myself,” he said.
“I will carry this knowledge that the mind is stronger than the body.”
Year nine student Lauryn said: “I’ve been to workshops in the past, but not as good as this. The speakers made you want to keep listening.”
