WORKS of Dad are on display at Casey Central Shopping Centre in Narre Warren South as a celebration for Father’s Day.
Budding artists from Hillsmede Primary School used pastel, pencils, charcoal and collage techniques to create an expressive portrayal of their father figure.
Hillsmede art teacher Mrs Chris Charles said she encouraged the students to use “expression and emotion” in their work.
It is the first time that the students have submitted their work for a public exhibition.
More than 150 pieces, including poems and lyrics, are on display.
Art work is also hanging on the Hillsmede Primary School walls as part of the school’s artistic inspiration for students.
Principal Anne Nichols believes “the artistic future of the school is immense”.
She said parents were delighted at the pictures and even had a “little chuckle” at the childrens’ colourful interpretation.
The shopping centre display will continue until Father’s Day on Sunday.
