HILLSMEADE Primary School students entertained some young music fans on a trip to the Happy Days Childcare Centre recently.
Students at the Narre Warren South school walked down to the near-by centre to help the younger children play instruments to accompany a story as well as a singing and dancing performance.
Band leader Natalie Ireland said the grade three to six students had so much fun while interacting with the children they failed to realise they were contributing to their performance and public speaking skills.
“I feel very privileged to work with such a dedicated, hard working young bunch of people. They come every week to rehearsals and even take their music home to practise,” Ms Ireland said.
She said the school was very lucky to have the resources to conduct extra curricular programs for the students.
“This has been just one of many public community performances the band has made including their performance earlier this year at Hamer Hall in the Southern Metropolitan Region Concert,” Ms Ireland said.
The students are also eagerly anticipating the time when they take the stage at the Casey Christmas Carols next month.
