The school of hard rock

IT’S a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll and students at St Paul Apostle North Primary School are singing and dancing their way to great heights.
The school’s grade six students have been rehearsing for several months in preparation for their production “Rock Starz”.
They will look to wow the crowd during two performances in September.
The school choir, recorder ensemble and dance groups will also perform, with just under 100 students to be involved on the night.
“Rock Starz” creator and music teacher Jody Banks said the show was about a group of school children who have a dream their rock band will write and perform music that goes to the top of the charts.
“Each year the whole school community gets involved with putting the musical production together and the team spirit is just amazing,” Ms Banks said.
She said the production was created to resemble a show about kids making music together with the underlining slogan – ‘If you believe in yourself you can rock the world’.
Anyone wanting to witness the spectacular scheduled to take place at Monash Secondary College on 14 and 15 September at 7.30pm can contact the school office on 9700 6068.
