EUMEMMERRING College students know it’s not OK to be away.
More than 100 Gleneagles campus students were recognised recently for their 100 per cent attendance rate during the first half of 2008.
Those with a perfect record were treated to a celebratory lunch, attended by Department of Education and Early Childhood Development regional director Peter Greenwell.
Mr Greenwell congratulated the students on their achievement.
He also discussed the importance of education to life long learning.
Gleneagles student welfare coordinator Maxine Foster said parents and guardians played a vital role in helping students achieve excellent attendance records.
“Gleneagles places a strong focus on providing the best possible education outcomes for all students and the relationships between home and school are an important part of our school values,” Ms Foster said.
Campus principal Sue Peddlesden said: “To be well prepared for their future, students must develop the skills and work habits that support excellent outcomes.
“Students must have developed excellent work habits to succeed in their senior studies.
“At Gleneagles we focus on attendance, organisational skills, study habits and ensuring all work is submitted on time,” she said.
