CASEY residents are benefiting from exciting new infrastructure projects being constructed throughout the municipality as part of the Council’s $78.4 million capital works program for 2007-2008.
City of Casey mayor Colin Butler said several projects had recently been completed and many more were on the way.
“The capital works program for 2007-2008 is well under way with some exciting community infrastructure projects recently being completed,” Cr Butler said.
“With more than 230,000 residents, the capital works program has been developed to ensure that we continue to deliver much-needed infrastructure for our growing community.”
Some of the recently completed projects include:
HALLAM Tennis Pavilion: The pavilion has undergone an extension and renovation to create a larger clubroom, additional storage, and larger kitchen.
DOVETON Pool in the Park, Water Play Area: This interactive water play area, comprises a number of water toys, including a tipping toucan, a number of sprays and bubblers, all on a colourful soft fall area.
PEARCEDALE Pavilion, oval two (George Whisken Oval): This new pavilion, contains two change rooms, showers and toilets, additional storage, umpires room and canteen, to allow easier and safer access to the oval for teams using the George Whisken Oval.
FROG Hollow Rugby Pavilion (Stage Two): Building additions consist of two additional change rooms, an additional disabled and public toilet, and expansion of kitchen and storage facilities. The design of the structure complements the existing architecture.
