INFORMATION seminars will take place next week to inform the community about the Eumemmerring Secondary College splitting into four individual schools.
A new model of education at the stand-alone schools will focus on a program structure where students will select a study program based on their career choice, curriculum strengths and personal interests.
Some of the program choices include biomedical, international relations, sport and recreation and information and communication technology.
Course counselling will also be provided to ensure students select the most appropriate senior studies for their needs. The individual school seminars will take place at the Gleneagles Secondary College on 28 July, the Fountain Gate Secondary College on 29 July and the Endeavour Hills Secondary College on 30 July at 7pm.
A general public seminar will be held at the Hallam Senior College on 4 August at 7pm.
Enrolments are now being taken at all schools. The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development confirmed that a decision had been made to establish the four separate schools from 2009.
Each school will have its own principal and school council and will forge its own identity, with specialist curriculum and close community links to ensure the best provision of education for young people in the area.
