PEARCEDALE Tennis Club is thrilled with getting six of its 10 junior teams into the finals this season.
The club junior co-ordinator, Vicki Pretty said the club was very proud of the achievement.
“It is a fine effort by our juniors, of which we are very proud,” Mrs Pretty, who also received the clubman of the year award, said.
The club fields juniors in both the Peninsula Tennis Association and the Berwick District Tennis Association.
“The club has gone from strength to strength over the past few years, with numbers increasing each season,” Mrs Pretty said.
“Pearcedale is known for its strong community grounding and as a result, has quite a strong social following, which has enabled the club to successfully increase memberships.
“With its dedicated and hard-working committee, the club is sure to prosper in the future.”
Mrs Pretty said the club also fielded a strong mid-week ladies’ competition on Tuesdays, mixed tennis on Saturday and men’s and ladies’ social tennis weekly.
“All of which are very well supported by our very dedicated coaches, Ben Goltz, Paul Kleverlaan, and the team from Court Coverage,” she said.
Court Coverage offers comprehensive tennis coaching for players of all standards from beginners to the more experienced, juniors, seniors, and mid-week ladies.
The Pearcedale Tennis Club Clubman Award was presented to Mrs Pretty this year for her dedication to the club. Mrs Pretty said she was humbled to receive such an award.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the Pearcedale community, which is made up of the nicest people.”
