Buddies gather for cancer research

By Kelly Yates
THE ROTARY Club of Berwick and the Bosom Buddies Breast Cancer Foundation hosted the annual Bosom Buddies Charity Ball last Saturday night at the Grand Hyatt in Melbourne.
More than 350 guests frocked up for the glamorous black tie charity event, raising more than $65,000 for breast cancer research at the Burnet Institute.
The event kicked off at 7pm with the theme of New Orleans and All That Jazz.
Television star George Donikian and Miss World Australia 2007 Rian Uygun were the official masters of ceremonies.
Guests were treated to a three-course meal while being entertained by covers and dance band, Dejavu.
The evening also featured a major auction and several silent auction items presented by celebrity auctioneer Bill Wellwood.
