BERWICK’S Brendan Williams was back at school on Monday, after a snake bit him at Wilson Botanic Park on the weekend.
Brendan, 15, made news headlines during the weekend after a snake bit him about 2.15pm on Saturday while he was walking through a grassy track at the park with a friend. The St Francis Xavier student was reading a text message on his mobile phone when he realised he had been bitten.
“I was looking at my message and the next thing I knew I felt something on my leg,” Brendan said.
Paramedics transported Brendan to Casey Hospital and after two blood tests and a swab of his leg doctors confirmed that no venom had entered his system.
