CASEY residents will have their say on the future of playground facilities in the city.
With support from Sport and Recreation Victoria, the Casey City Council has commissioned the development of a new playground strategy.
“The City of Casey is committed to ensuring that playgrounds in the municipality continue to reflect the needs and interests of local families,” mayor Janet Halsall said.
“The community’s input to the strategy will guide the provision and management of play facilities throughout the city.”
Cr Halsall said public comment would occur through several avenues, including focus groups, one-on-one interviews, community submissions, and online community surveys.
The municipality has more than 210 playgrounds.
“Council recognises that play spaces serve an important role in the development of children by providing opportunities for physical development, improved coordination, balance and spatial awareness, as well as the development of social, cognitive, and creative qualities,” Cr Halsall said.
