BUDDING models strutted along the catwalk at Westfield Fountain Gate on Tuesday as the search began for Australia’s “next top model”.
More than 180 wannabe models, aged from 16 to 23, flocked to the centre for the hit television show’s auditions from 10am to 2pm.
Guest judges fashion designer Alex Perry, former model Sarah Murdoch and Lizzie Leighton-Clarke from Priscilla’s Model Management had the hard task of narrowing the hopeful contestants down to 10 finalists, who would continue to the next round of auditions.
The nationwide audition tour made two stops in Melbourne, one of which was Westfield Fountain Gate, in search of the finalists who will star in the fifth series of the Fox8 reality program.
Australia’s Next Top Model follows the transformation of young women into potential supermodels as they are initiated into the high-stakes world of modelling.
The next series of Australia’s Next Top Model will premiere in early 2009.
