POLICE are urging parents and carers of youths to register party celebrations with local police through the Partysafe initiative.
Acting Senior Sergeant Terry Lloyd from the Endeavour Hills police station said police would be stepping up patrols on Friday and Saturday nights due to a rise in the number of parties held during this time of year.
“With VCE examinations commencing tomorrow (Friday), police are aware of the increase in party celebrations,” he said.
Act Sen Sgt Lloyd said parents needed to make sure events had adequate parental supervision.
Any parents or carers wanting to register a party can do so by filling out a Partysafe registration form at a local police station.
Party safely, urge police
