Charges from driving packed car

A MAN faces multi driving-related charges after police intercepted a car with five people in its back seat during the early hours of Saturday.
The incident has outraged police who say young drivers and their passengers are still not getting the message that overloading people in vehicles is dangerous.
Police from the Cardinia Traffic Management Unit intercepted a green Ford sedan about 1.26am on Clyde Road in Berwick.
When police approached the car they found five passengers in the rear of the car and a front seat passenger.
The back-seat passengers, who will be issued penalty notices for failing to wear properly fastened and adjusted seatbelts, include a 17-year-old Berwick girl, 22-year-old Narre Warren man, 18-year-old Narre Warren woman and a 22-year-old Narre Warren North woman.
Police interviewed the 22-year-old Gembrook man who faces charges including four counts of reckless conduct endangering persons of death, four counts of reckless conduct endangering persons of serious injury, driving in a manner dangerous, careless driving (improper use of a vehicle) and improper use of a motor vehicle. The man tested positive for exceeding the prescribed concentration of alcohol.
He is expected to be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
