Narre Warren South P-12 College assistant principal Robert Duncan said the school’s VCE scores had improved significantly from the 2007 results.
“We had one student receive 99.5, another receive 98.1, one student received 96.1, and a number of students got in the 70s and 80s,” he said.
“We also had an excellent completion in VCAL and VET programs, so we are quite pleased.”
Hallam student Rija Khanal received an ENTER score of 99.9, placing her in the top one per cent of students in the state.
Rija, joint dux of Haileybury Girls College, was born in Nepal, lived most of her life in Thailand and has been in Australia for nearly two-and-a-half years.
She speaks English, Nepalese, Hindi, Thai and French.
Three Haileybury students scored 99.9.
Adrian Majstorovic was the highest scorer at Beaconhills College Berwick Campus, with an ENTER of 96.75.
This year marks the first time the campus has had a Year 12 group.
“Even though we have almost doubled our VCE cohort with the Village Campus, Berwick, we have maintained the high standards we have achieved in recent years,” Beaconhills headmaster Tony Sheumack said.
Berwick Secondary College senior school co-ordinator Rob Osborne said he was pleased with his students’ results, with Shaun Woodbridge being the school’s dux after scoring an ENTER of 98.1.
