Renewed identity

A HAMPTON Park student has designed a logo which will represent the Hampton Park Community Renewal project.
Fourteen-year-old Hailey Murphy’s design was selected from 16 entries to be used on future documentation and promotion of the renewal project.
Ms Murphy’s design incorporates the River Gum leaf, which represents the significance of Hampton Park’s River Gum trees to the local community.
City of Casey city living manager Richard Amon said the HPCR initiative was a partnership project between the City of Casey, the Victorian Department of Planning and Community Development, and the Hampton Park community.
“Hampton Park Community Renewal aims to strengthen opportunities for activity and positive change in the local area,” he said.
“This initiative strives to bring together residents, business, government and local organisations to help transform the local community into a place of opportunity and activity.”
The HPCR committee has identified 10 community projects as part of the local action plan, Mr Amon said.
These include clean up days, River Gum Creek Reserve improvements, art walls around Hampton Park, fire safety education, festivals and events, increased availability of health and mental services, youth skills development and mentoring program, safe design guidelines to complement the Hampton Park Shopping Centre Structure Plan, and road and traffic improvements.
