Park hosts nights of summer fun

WILSON Botanic Park in Berwick will be open longer during the summer.
City of Casey mayor Geoff Ablett said the park was one of the most stunning locations in the municipality and encouraged residents to make the most of it during the warmer months.
“A host of super summer events are on offer over the coming months at Wilson Botanic Park to suit all ages and interests, so I encourage residents to visit the park and enjoy what the great outdoors has to offer,” Cr Ablett said.
“Open air events this summer include the Sunset Cinema and ‘Jazz and Swing by the Lake’.”
These events are in addition to the regular activities held at Wilson Botanic Park, which includes over three kilometres of walking trails, and the lookout tower, which has spectacular views of Casey, Western Port and Port Phillip Bay.
A free park and ride shuttle service will operate from Lyall Road, opposite the Berwick Inn, for all events.
Summer events at Wilson Botanic Park include:
Sunset Cinema – WALL-E (G) on 24 January at 6pm, ‘Jazz and Swing by the Lake’ on Saturday 31 January from 5.30pm to 10pm, ‘Blues by the Lake’ on Saturday 21 February from 5.30pm to 10pm,
Events cost between $10-$16 for adults and $8-$9 for children/concession. Family tickets are also available.
Wilson Botanic Park is located at 668 Princes Highway in Berwick and is open from 7am to 8pm.
