Artists take prize frame

BUDDING artists are encouraged to show off their talents by entering this year’s ‘Casey Creations’ creative arts competition.
The competition, now in its eighth year, is run by the City of Casey youth services.
The initiative is open to people of secondary school age who live, work or study within the City of Casey.
The competition provides an opportunity for the students to express their thoughts, feelings and ideas in a creative and artistic way.
The 2009 competition has two categories, visual arts (2D) and photography. There is no required theme for submitted artworks; however terms and conditions do apply and all entries must be accompanied by an entry form.
A ‘Casey Creations’ junior competition is also running simultaneously for students in Grades 5 and 6 with the categories of 2D artwork and photography.
Entries for both ‘Casey Creations’ competitions close at 5pm on Friday 6 March and can be submitted at any one of the council’s youth information centres or customer service centres.
