Cricket for all abilities

CRICKET lovers are invited to Casey Fields to have a crack at one of Australia’s most popular games.
On Sunday 22 February, Cricket Victoria is holding the ‘Access All Abilities Carnival’, designed for people with a disability who want to get involved in the game of cricket.
Last year, more than 200 people attended and teams from Gippsland, the Grampians and Barwon South West leagues participated.
“We are very pleased to once again host this carnival and congratulate Cricket Victoria for developing a range of opportunities for people of all abilities,” City of Casey mayor Geoff Ablett said.
“This is the carnival to live out your dreams, to get out on the field and let loose the inner Mitchell Johnson or Ricky Ponting,” he said.
Cricket Victoria will hold three different competitions: ‘No boundaries’ cricket, an entry level competition for those who just want to have a go, including people utilising wheelchairs; ‘Ten Over Tonk’, for the less experienced cricketers; and ‘Super League Cricket’, for experienced cricketers playing for the Victorian All Abilities Cricket Championship.
If you would like to compete contact Andy Lee at Cricket Victoria 9653 1143, or visit www.cricketvictoria. com.au to register your details.
