Keen for the highlands

PIPE bands from across Victoria are preparing for this weekend’s Berwick Highland Gathering.
The Rotary Club of Narre Warren is staging the event at Akoonah Park in Berwick on Sunday 8 February.
The Berwick Highland Gathering will also include traditional caber tossing, the ‘Atlas Stones of Strength’ competition, Scottish dancing, a solo drumming contest, a competition between the Black Scottish Terriers and West Highland Whites, and a recent innovation at the gathering, a dog flyball competition.
The Berwick Highland Gathering will go from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
Entry costs $5 per person, with concession tickets being sold for $3.
Free entry for children under the age of 14.
