Somers takes RSL top title

PETER Somers claimed Cranbourne RSL Bowling Club’s Singles Club Championship against Bill Bradbury last Sunday.
Somers used precise draw bowling to claim the title in front of a large crowd.
Meanwhile, a new-look Cranbourne RSL defeated Parkdale by 17 shots in its division-three clash at Parkdale.
The selectors swung the axe, with an eye to the finals.
The RSL team gained 16 points to remain on top of the RVBA ladder.
Coaches’ award: J. Vowles (three votes), B. Jones (two), P. Somers (one).
Cranbourne RSL’s division-five side beat ladder leader Pakenham by 30 shots at home.
