League boss may quit

BESEIGED Dandenong and District Junior Football Club general manager Anne-Marie Brown may quit after AFL Victoria officials’ ‘scathing’ review of the competition.
Brown came under fire more than any other individual in an unflattering 33-page report on the management of the DDJFL.
The North Dandenong resident said she was ‘very upset’ about the findings and labelled AFL Victoria officials’ review process as ‘unprofessional’.
One DDJFL board member has already stepped down.
“To write a report like that, basically, they’ve said we are incompetent and they have no faith in us,” Brown said.
“I’ve been involved for 16 years on the board and have always given 100 per cent – if not more.
“If I felt I couldn’t give 100 per cent or felt jaded then I would have to resign and I shouldn’t be there.”
She admits there are aspects of the DDJFL management that could be improved – most notably the website.
Brown said she was not bitter about the findings and would continue to do what was best for the game in the region.
“If that’s what clubs want, I’ll go along with that because, at the end of the day, I’m there for junior football,” she said.
“But I don’t necessarily agree with the decision and feel the review was scathing and very unprofessional.”
