FUNDRAISING efforts at an Endeavour Hills school have raised more than $1000 for communities affected by the bushfires.
More than 200 students at Southern Cross Primary School donated money for a free dress day and pancake day on Tuesday.
Parents volunteered their time to cook more than 300 pancakes from 11.30am, which sold for between $2 and $3 each.
The money raised from the free dress day will go to the education department’s contribution to the Victorian Bushfire Relief Fund and the money collected from the pancakes will be donated to the State School Relief Fund to purchase school uniforms for the children affected by the bushfires.
Assistant principal Anne Robinson said she was happy with the amount of money raised on the day.
“The donations are still rolling in, with parents even giving brand new clothes, books and pencils,” she said.
Staff members at the school have also donated dog food, blankets and towels for the injured animals.
