
STUDENTS at a Narre Warren school are digging deep to support the victims of the Victorian bushfires.
Don Bosco Catholic Primary School’s 372 students took part in a casual dress day and sausage sizzle last week, with more than $2000 being raised for the families affected by the fires. All of the money collected will go to the Victorian Bushfire Relief Fund.
Principal Brendan Marrinon said the school encouraged the students to donate their own money to the cause.
“We had a number of students who were keen to raise money and came up with a number of fund-raising suggestions,” he said.
Mr Marrinon said the school could also be sending off a new portable, which would be used as temporary accommodation, to one of the towns affected by the fires.
