NARRE Warren woodchopper Tom Fitzpatrick swung the axe at last weekend’s Berwick Show as the youngest competitor in the wood chopping event.
The 11-year-old dazzled a record number of crowds in the under 18 boys’ competition at Akoonah Park on Sunday.
The wood chopping event is judged on how quickly the contestants can completely cut through the wood.
It took the youngster five minutes, scoring him sixth place, while the 16-year-old winner of the competition did it in three minutes.
