CASEY families will flock to the Old Cheese Factory in Berwick this weekend for the annual Casey Kids Carnival.
Students from Marnebek School in Cranbourne will perform a puppetry show at this year’s event on Saturday 14 March.
The Casey Kids Carnival, which is a free day of activities for children of all ages, will feature rides, interactive activities, roving entertainers, workshops, face painters, arts and craft, an animal farm and information stalls.
This is the 11th year for the Casey Kids Carnival.
Two professional artists are currently working with two classes of children, aged nine to 11, to design and create puppets, learn and develop puppet operating skills and design and rehearse a performance for the day.
Marnebek School caters for a diverse student population with mild, moderate or profound intellectual disabilities.
The project provides students with hands-on skill building and individual expression, and encourages teamwork and co-operation.
Casey Council received financial support from the Federal Government through the Festivals Australia funding stream for the community arts project.
The Casey Kids Carnival runs from 10am to 4pm.
