A CANNONS Creek boy is one of 60 promising business students from across Victoria selected to take part in the 2009 Australian Business Week at Deakin University in Geelong.
Hillcrest Christian College Year 12 student Chris Furlong, who is studying business management this year, will get the opportunity to meet political and business leaders during the event.
“We’ll get to learn about business concepts as if we ourselves were running a business,” the 17-year-old told the News.
“I’m happy to be hand picked to take part in the initiative as it’s a chance you don’t get everyday.”
Chris hopes to study a double-degree in information business systems and information technology at Deakin University in Melbourne next year.
“I have a passion for business management and would eventually like to own an information technology business,” he said. The award is worth more than $2000. The six-day event starts on 13 April.
