Airlifted to hospital

A MAN was airlifted to The Alfred hospital last Sunday after a car crash in Berwick.
Police said a dark blue Mercedes hit a gum tree along Coniston Avenue at 4.30am, throwing the 21-year-old Berwick driver from the vehicle.
Casey Traffic Management Unit (TMU) Sergeant Pat McGavigan said the driver lost control of the vehicle after travelling around the right hand bend and collided with a tree on the opposite side of the road.
The driver was airlifted to The Alfred hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.
The passenger, a 36-year-old man also from Berwick, was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Both men were in a critical condition.
