WINDERMERE Child and Family Services will be auctioning a car it received free from a Berwick car dealer at the upcoming 20 Futures Gala Ball.
Berwick Nissan dealer principal Robert Marshall told the News the dealership had donated a brand new Nissan Tiida, retailing for $15, 990, at zero cost to the organisation.
“I’ve been supporting Windermere for more than 10 years and feel it’s a good thing to support the local community,” he said.
Windermere Child and Family Services community engagement and fundraising manager Terry Thomas said staff at the centre were blown away by the generosity of Berwick Nissan.
“Given the state of the economy and how tough the car industry is doing it’s amazing that they’ve donated the car,” she said.
The 20 Futures Gala Ball will be held on Saturday 27 June in the ballroom at the Hilton on the Park, with the theme of diamonds are forever.
Guests will be entertained by contemporary pianist Josh Cohen, singing sensation Vanessa Amorosi and Tim Campbell.
Channel nine’s Tony Jones will be the master of ceremonies.
Some of the auctions on the night include yacht cruises, helicopter rides, holidays and jewellery, with all of the proceeds going to Windermere Child and Family Services.
Tickets cost $210 per person and include a three-course meal and beer, wine and soft drinks.
Windermere Child and Family Services marketing and events co-ordinator Kathryn King said the organisation was hoping to raise $200,000, with an expected crowd of 450 people. For details call Kathryn King on 9705 3233.
