NEIGHBOURS television star Matthew Werkmeister and Australia Idol top 10 finalist Sophie Paterson have joined forces for Casey Cares, a fund-raising bushfire benefit concert.
Matthew, of Cranbourne, told the News he wanted to help the families and volunteers affected by the Victorian bushfires.
The 17-year-old will be the master of ceremonies at the event, to be held at Hillcrest Christian College in Clyde North on Saturday 4 April.
Matthew has been performing on the hit television show for four years, spending at least 12 hours a day on set.
Sophie will be wowing audiences with three original acoustic songs during the concert.
Casey Cares will run from 2pm to 10pm.
There will be two performance stages for entertainment throughout the afternoon and a variety concert in the evening.
Entry is by donation.
All proceeds from the event go towards the Mayoral Charity Fund for distribution to support and resource the CFA in Casey and other local emergency services organisations.
