HALLAM Primary School captains, school vice captains, and members of the student leadership team were presented with their badges at a special assembly on Monday.
Principal Julie Macfarlane and Narre Warren North MP Luke Donnellan presented the badges to the students.
“The students were selected by the staff and their peers and are terrific representatives of Hallam PS,” Grade 5 and 6 team leader Sherri Bain said.
“They are reliable, friendly, and trustworthy students who have a positive attitude to all aspects of school.”
Ms Bain said the school captains and vice-captains were looking forward to attending the City of Casey School leaders’ forum and facilitating programs, while school leaders were excited to participate in a number of community events.
Members of the Student Leadership Team are also working on a variety of programs including the Ride2School program, aimed to increase the number of students walking and riding to school and the World Vision Project, which involves writing letters to a sponsored child, fund-raising, looking at the effects of poverty and comparing Australia’s ecological footprint to that of a Third World Nation.
Ms Bain said the students were deserving of their badges as they have a desire to learn and show leadership qualities.
“These students have demonstrated a keen interest in learning and are supportive of their fellow students.”
