Fete

By Kelly Yates
STUDENTS were transformed into tigers, pirates, lady bugs, butterflies and bees as they got their faces painted during Heritage College’s annual fete on Sunday 15 March.
The event, which was organised by parents and friends association president Lisa Wells, included a busking competition, paintball, lucky dips and a lolly jar guessing game.
Families also got the chance to get up close and personal with goats, guinea pigs, rabbits, ducks, hens, lambs and lizards in the animal farm.
Budding cake decorators put their skills to the test for the cake decorating competition that was open to primary and secondary students and parents.
The cakes were judged on presentation and imagination.
Heritage College student Daniel Schlegel was crowned the champion of the tennis ball throw competition, with the ball being clocked at a speedy 120km/h.
A silent auction of a hamper filled with household products was won by Tamara Ryan.
The donations for the hamper will be given to the Red Cross bushfire appeal.
