Body image grants open

APPLICATIONS for the ‘Go for your Life’ Positive Body Image Grants 2009 are now open.
The $5000 can fund a diverse range of projects that promote healthy body image through healthy lifestyle choices.
The grants are targeted at Victorians aged 12 to 25 years and are open to community-based not-for-profit organisations such as health centres, sports clubs and recreation groups.
Secondary schools and local government authorities are also encouraged to apply, particularly when in partnership with community organisations.
Activities that can be funded through the grants include conducting community forums, producing information booklets or DVDs, running sporting events or inviting guest speakers to address young people. Grant applications are open until 17 April 2009 and application forms are available from the Department of Planning and Community Development website at www.grants.dpcd.vic.gov.au or from Tammy Lobato’s office by telephoning 9796 1987.
